Annie Sussman and Megan Murray recently published the article 鈥淓xcursions: Activities That Foster Mathematical Belonging鈥 in NCTM鈥檚 magazine, Mathematics Teacher: Learning and Teaching PK鈥12. The article explores how real-world, culturally connected math activities can help students see themselves in mathematics, increase participation, and foster a stronger sense of belonging in the classroom. TERC has received a $300,000 grant from Britebound to support NeuroVivid Pathways, a STEM maker camp and educator training initiative for neurodivergent middle schoolers in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Alaska. The program provides training, materials, and support to help spark students鈥 interest in STEM and prepare them for future careers.
