A new article, 鈥淰alidating game-based learning assessment of students鈥� computational thinking practices using Bayesian networks and machine-learning based detectors,鈥� by Elizabeth Rowe, Russell G. Almond, and Ma Victoria Almeda has been published in the Journal of Research on Technology in Education. The study uses data from 716 students to examine how TERC’s digital game Zoombinis can support assessment of computational thinking practices鈥攑roblem decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithm design. The Viviendo Matem谩ticas project is demonstrating how meaningful collaboration between educators and families can support young children鈥檚 mathematical learning. The program brings together educators and Spanish-speaking caregivers of preschool-age children to explore early math through conversation, shared experiences, and hands-on activities.
